Dr. Ijeoma Esther Ofokansi, DNP, PMHNP-BC, APRN, MSN. Ed.
Dr. Ijeoma Esther Ofokansi, DNP, is a highly experienced Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose journey in the field of psychiatry started over 22 years ago. Dr. Ofokansi, DNP, completed her bachelor’s degree in Chamberlain University while still practicing as psychiatric nurse in the in-patient behavioral hospital. Afterwards, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Central Florida and Post Master’s Graduate Certificate as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ofokansi, DNP, completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Chamberlin University.
Dr. Ofokansi, DNP, was an adjunct professor of Psychiatric Nursing at University of Central Florida for several years. However, she is currently an adjunct Professor of Psychiatric Nursing, teaching APRNs who are seeking Post Master’s certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
As a Board Certified Autonomous Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Ofokansi, DNP, brings excellence, compassion, optimism, and a vast array of experience in the psychiatric field as a clinician and as an educator. Her guiding principle remains and will always be “to treat others as you would have them treat you” which is drawn from Matt. 7:12.
